Michael Reber has been working in IT since 2012. As a 3rd level supporter for private customers as well as corporate customers, his interests increasingly lay in Linux, security and monitoring. From 2015 onwards, he worked for various large companies throughout Switzerland as a Red Hat Certified Administrator and Linux Unix Engineer. He carried out many tasks to increase security: hardening of reverse proxies, encryption of sensitive systems and securing of Internet-exposed hosts with SELinux were part of his daily routine. From 2018, Elasticsearch and Splunk joined the list of Linux topics. From 2019, Michael Reber set up numerous SIEM solutions at various customers as an Elasticsearch Engineer. Vulnerability management was part of his daily business. From 2020, he worked as a cyber security engineer and deepened his knowledge specifically in automation, auditing and with further training. Michael Reber has been working at Swiss Infosec as a senior pentester since 1 June 2023, where he is centrally responsible for penetration tests, phishing, auditing, consulting and training. He imparts his practical knowledge to a wide range of interested parties in a target group-oriented manner.
