Senior Consultant
Martin Furrer has many years of experience in managing and stabilising complex, distributed organisations. He has held various management positions in the migration and housing sector in the DACH region. In these roles, he was responsible for organisations across multiple locations and worked under politically and socially challenging conditions.
A key focus of his work was the management of extraordinary situations and crisis situations. These included security-related incidents, major events and evacuations, as well as pandemic-related emergencies and cyber incidents at systemically important service providers. In addition, he was involved at a strategic level in risk management processes, business impact analyses and the development and implementation of business continuity concepts. He worked at the interface between strategic guidelines and operational implementation, translating security-related requirements into practical structures and processes and supporting development and integration projects in which new structures were developed and sustainably transferred into operation.
At Swiss Infosec AG, Martin Furrer brings this practical experience from real crisis and management situations to his consulting work. His focus is on crisis management, business continuity, and risk and security organisations, especially where concepts need to be made understandable and effectively implemented.
He acquired his professional background by studying political science, ethnology and Arabic language and literature at the University of Zurich. While still a student, he worked as a consultant in the field of integral security at Swiss Infosec AG. He most recently deepened his expertise with the CAS Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) programme at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Sustainable security is achieved where concepts are understandable and responsibility is clearly assumed.
